I am an entrepreneur and limited partner.

Over 20 years ago, I took a significant risk: I sold almost everything I owned, moved to Paris and founded Ballou, a communications advisory working with high-growth and dynamic B2B and B2C companies, as well as venture capital firms and real estate organisations. In the early days, my bank account dropped close to zero and I had to face defeat and returning to the US to live in my father’s basement. Instead, the risk and the work paid off.

Ballou grew into a successful international firm, advising companies and investors, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Box, ServiceNow, Shopify, Stripe, Deel, Accel Partners and Wise. And the journey is far from over.

Today, Ballou manages European and US communications for clients from offices in Paris, London, Berlin and Barcelona. My primary client-facing role is advising LPs (including single and multi-family offices), GPs and CEOs on how to use communications as a strategic advantage. For venture capital firms and founders, I help craft clear and compelling narratives to support fundraising, build trust post-investment and increase long-term engagement.

I also specialise in crisis management, regularly working on sensitive, high-stakes situations at the most senior level. These confidential conversations give me deep insight into leadership, decision-making and human behaviour under pressure. I make a point of sharing what I can - always anonymised - so others can benefit from these learnings and, hopefully, avoid similar mistakes.

That is why I write and regularly speak at leading European technology and investment events, including Slush, SuperVenture, South Summit, Unlock VC and other industry conferences.
